VAMONOS is a QTPOC campout supporting intentional exchange with a focus on nurturing artists, cultural producers and community workers. By centering joy, play, and experimentation, we aim to deepen a connection to self, develop a connection to others, and explore practices of self-care and stewardship.

Our mission is to establish an annual convening for QTPOC artists, cultural producers and community workers across all disciplines and fields. As we acknowledge the historical and ongoing systemic oppression within artistic, cultural, social and educational institutions, our goal is to foster a space in which self care—fueled by joy, experimentation and connection are at the forefront of the work we do on a daily basis.

Programming includes morning yoga + meditation, site specific performance, artist salon, fireside drag show, hikes, heart space, workshops, discussions, an afternoon at the spa, and other activities to round out the weekend. We curate a thoughtful, fun and engaging line up of workshops, discussion and experiences. 

Participants have full access to campgrounds, a pond and creekside beach, a hot tub, as well as delicious and well balanced meals.

Laura Perlin's 2019 workshop: Your Tender Heart Space

Queer and trans people of color together for the weekend in nature -- that in itself is a sweet precious thing to cherish and celebrate. Let's get deep into what's possible here through sharing and listening from the heart. This workshop/ritual opens up the generative possibilities for authentic connection, vulnerability, and trust that are possible in this space. You are all invited to this experience of connection and community exploring diverse QTPOC experiences.
